Membership and trials
A store trial starts when an eligible reader confirms a subscription, with the offer and renewal price shown before purchase. Manage subscription opens your store's settings. Restore purchases refreshes access for the same store account. Cancellation and refund requests are handled through the relevant store.
Accounts and account deletion
Use Membership & billing → Create account or sign in with your email and password. Confirm your email using the verification link. Forgot password? sends a reset link. Creating an account does not start a subscription. Notes and progress remain on each device.
To delete an account, open Membership & billing → Delete account, export anything you want to keep, enter your password and confirm deletion. Cancel Apple or Google subscriptions separately to stop future charges. If you cannot sign in or deletion is unavailable, email commonplace.support@icloud.com; never send your password or sign-in tokens. Erase local reading data in Privacy & data is a separate action.
Listening
Human recordings are used when a matching edition has appropriate recording rights. Google Gemini prepares the remaining works on demand. A new passage can take longer to start than a cached one. Check your internet connection and try again if preparation fails. Synthetic narration may mispronounce names or older language; please report the work and reading section.
Kindle and your notes
Download an EPUB and use Amazon's Send to Kindle. Kindle delivery is managed by Amazon. Notes and reading progress stay on this device; export them before clearing local data or uninstalling. Downloaded books and data exports are not removed by the app's erase command.
Rights and corrections
For a rights concern, send the work title, source edition or recording, the material at issue, your contact details, and the basis of the concern. We will investigate and can withdraw disputed material while reviewing it. Commonplace is an independent project and is not endorsed by Project Gutenberg, LibriVox, Alibaba, or the app stores.
